Kid Stuff

I made these cute handprint ornaments for my mom and gave them to her at Thanksgiving. I saw them on Pinterest and had to try them. So many great ideas on Pinterest, so many things to try! But this is one of my favorites so far. I used the simple hand mold recipe below and then painted these to look like Santa. The footprint for the snowman I think turned out TOO cute!! I am going to make a set for myself!

I love this!! I bought a 3-pack of foam boards that are white, then I glued black poster paper to it. I painted all our feet white and we took turns placing our footprints. I had the kids do their first. Then I painted a little more white over them to complete the shape. I waited for them to dry and then I used a black sharpie to make the eyes and mouths. I used Orange paint for the "Boo" and I used some leaves that I had and a fake pine cone and hot glued those at the top. I used dollar store fall ribbon to hang it with. I tried writing our names at the bottom but nothing really looked right, so I ended up just leaving it blank. I might go back and add our last name to it. Either way, this was fun and cute!

This was  a really cute idea that I got from

I made these for Mother's Day for my mom and a set for myself! Too cute!!

Remember making clay handprints in preschool and kindergarten? I even bought some at a store when my daughter was little and did them at home. But now we can make them at home with household kitchen ingredients. It's easy, cheap and FUN! My boys had so much fun with these. I'm going to make bigger ones and do both their hands and then their feet.

All you need to make these is; 1/2 cup Flour, 1/2 cup salt and 1/4 cup of water. Mix it together and then roll out and form a circle, or any shape you'd like. Bake in the oven on 200 - 225 degrees for 2-3 hours. I placed mine on foiled cookie sheet. Once they're cooled down you can paint them like I did ( I used crayola washable paint - so the kids wouldn't get anything stained) but you can use any paint you'd like or even chalk.  Also, I forgot to poke holes in them to hang, so don't forget to do that! But if you do, just take a pop can tab and superglue it with the top hole sticking up for your hanger :)

Puffy Paint!

I've seen puffy paint all over Pinterest.com and I just had to try it. So the boys and I mixed it up, add the coloring and had a blast. I used black poster paper as one person suggested, but you can use it on anything really. The thicker it's applied the longer it will take to dry. I didn't have fancy bottles to put the paint in so, I just used recyclable containers and they worked just fine :) All you need is 1 cup of salt, 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of water and food coloring. Mix it up and put in bottles and get messy!
*I took garbage bags and cut them to put over the boys' heads so clothes didn't get ruined
